Kimberly Irene Culp Cloyd

Kimberly is an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Sanford M. Cipinko. Kimberly joined the Law Offices of Sanford M. Cipinko after practicing law as an associate at Fenwick & West LLP.

While at Fenwick & West, Kimberly represented businesses involved in commercial disputes, including disputes involving claims of false advertising, trade dress, unfair competition, and intentional interference. Kimberly also represented clients involved in employment and labor disputes.

Kimberly brings her litigation experience at Fenwick & West to the Law Offices of Sanford M. Cipinko where she has expanded her practice to include the representation of clients with personal injuries.

Kimberly received her juris doctorate from the University of California, Hastings. While at Hastings, Kimberly received the Witkin Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. She was also an active member of Hastings' award winning moot court program. As a second year law student, Kimberly won Best Petitioner's Brief and Second Place Team Overall in the National Evans Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition. As a third year law student, Kimberly won Best Intervenor's Brief and Best Team Overall in the National Pace Environmental Law Moot Court competition. Kimberly has also coached law students on the skills of oral advocacy.

As an associate, Kimberly obtained a reversal for her pro bono client in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and helped refine the law on reasonable searches for DNA evidence The Ninth Circuit's opinion is cited at Friedman v. Boucher, 580 F.3d 847 (9th Cir. 2009).

Kimberly is a member of the California State Bar and admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of California. She is a member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.
